More than 400 professionals attended EXIN's first conference in China
ITSM community’s responseZhenpeng said, “We are so pleased at the response to the conference from the community in this very important sector for EXIN. The conference was an opportunity for EXIN and its partners to share with the market new developments, in particular our new qualification program, ‘IT Service Management according to ISO/IEC 20000’. The program enables IT service providers to continue with their educational program in this very difficult global financial situation. It provides practical ‘how to’ guidance on IT service management best practices limited within the boundaries of the standard. This enables IT service providers to focus on the critical elements of service management and delivery through an education program which is cost effective, time effective and focused on their role based needs.”Trainers certifiedThe second part of conference was focussed on the Train-the-Trainer workshops, an EXIN global initiative to provide extra support to trainers and an opportunity for certification for trainers. Zhenpeng confirmed that more than 70% of the Accredited Training Providers from Greater China sent their trainers to the workshop. All trainers who participated earned an ISO/IEC 20000 Accredited Trainer certificate and their representing organizations have received conditional accreditations for the ISO/IEC 20000 Foundation course. In regards to the workshop, Dominika Hunag from Quint said, “At a personal level, it (the training) is very helpful for delivering the content. It is also good to have first hand information from EXIN in terms of the position of the (ISO/IEC 20000) course.”
Keeping the momentumBy spearheading the introduction of the new qualification program and by providing conference and workshop opportunities, EXIN is making a lasting impression in a market that is eager for progress and professional guidance in the IT Service Management field, said Zhenpeng.
Now that Zhenpeng knows that a major conference of this size is feasible and there is a strong interest from the ITSM community, he is already looking towards the future. Based on feedback and experience from the first conference, he is considering improvement ideas for next year which might include a larger venue with exhibition hall.
“Given the fact that there is no independent conference in China like this where all users and vendors have equal chance to exchange their knowledge and experiences, it is important for EXIN to meet these market needs. Events like this bring a lot of added value to our partners and it won’t go unnoticed that EXIN’s efforts to support trainers are making it a prominent name for IT certification in China,” Zhenpeng said.
