The Navigating Eye

The Navigating Eye will be the image of the new, award-winning qualification program IT Service Management according to ISO/IEC 20000 as the expanded program is now being introduced worldwide. TüV SüD Akademie (Germany) and EXIN International, partners in the development of the program, chose this logo as it emphasizes that the program gives orientation and that it can be used as a compass to navigate the best practice universe. The Navigating Eye reflects experience in finding trustworthy solutions.
The logo is a stylized composition of star constellations encompassed within a camera lens which combine to form a focusing eye.

Identity
“We feel that the new logo offers a memorable graphic that tells the story of what ISO/IEC 20000 stands for and what it makes it different. Introducing this new logo design is an important step in building strong visibility, credibility and memorability for our new qualification program,” said Joep van Nieuwstadt, CEO of EXIN International.

Logo products
Internationally renowned design bureau Total Identity in Amsterdam created the logo using concepts that represent the philosophy behind the new qualification program. Several variations of the logo, including pins for certified candidates, have been developed and will be used by itself as well as in combination with the EXIN and/or TüV SüD Akademie brand names. The logo has been presented to the official International ISO/IEC 20000 Steering Committee.

Program development
EXIN and TüV SüD Akademie are jointly developing this qualification program for IT professionals. Since January of 2008, when the first Foundation level exams were introduced, the program has expanded to include Professional level exams. The entire program will include a Foundation Level, a Professional Level, an IT Management Track and an Auditing Track. This program is based on job roles and competencies and gives insight in how to accomplish the required quality level of IT Services.

ISO/IEC 20000 qualifications
The qualification program is designed for a wide variety of IT professionals, at all levels, who are involved in the quality improvement of IT Services and IT Service Management, such as operational staff, supervisors, (senior) managers, (senior) consultants and auditors. The program is also well-suited for IT professionals already experienced in standards and best practices, such as ITIL®, MOF, COBIT, ISO 9000, ISO/IEC 27000, CMMI and ASL, and for IT-professionals.
