itSMF officially supports the ISO/IEC 20000 program
itSMF officially supports the ISO/IEC 20000 program
9.9.2009
EXIN and TÜV SÜD Akademie are proud to announce that an agreement has been reached with itSMF UK on the mutual relationship of their qualification programs related to the ISO/IEC 20000 standard on IT Service Management.
“
I am very pleased that the high quality program in ITSM according to ISO/IEC 20000 is now accepted by the representatives of the IT Service Management community. This will certainly help to promote a quality oriented approach to IT Service Management which the ISO/IEC 20000 standard was aiming for
”, Jenny Dugmore, Chair of ISO/IEC JTC1 SC7 WG 25, responsible for ISO/IEC 20000 series development and member of the Committee for the ITSM program of TÜV SÜD and EXIN.
The EXIN/ TÜV SÜD program, already accredited last year according to the ISO/IEC 17024 standard, now also has proved to be aligned to the itSMF ISO/IEC 20000 certification scheme, which is the most common in the world.
The agreement with itSMF includes recognition of the Foundation certificate in
ITSM according to ISO/IEC 20000
from EXIN and TÜV SÜD. The Foundation certificate aims at all staff in organizations involved in service provision. This is a starting point for the role-based certificates in the rest of the qualification program that TÜV SÜD and EXIN have developed.
“The ISO/IEC 17024 certification for our program means recognition of the way we developed and manage the scheme
”, Renate Eberle director of TÜV SÜD Akademie and chair of the ITSM programs Committee, said.
“Because of the excellent work of the international Committee of experts we were confident about the opinion of their colleagues from the itSMF side”
, Joep van Nieuwstadt, director of EXIN added.
“We will fully support this qualification program and promote this as we will promote our own”,
Keith Aldis the CEO from itSMF UK said.
